But I’m wondering, how do you guys know which variant you received? I’ve seen, for instance, “Variant 2” on Glossybox but I didn’t see a similar marker on this month’s (my third!) Boxycharm.

I received: tarte tarteist Pro Glow Colorpop Golden State of Mind Dr. Brandt Adesse, which I suspect is Haute Cocoa but no label! The BrowGal – this was the only one I didn’t like, my hair is extremely dark but I got “Brown 02” which is too light for me.

But overall, I was happy with my new items and I’m definitely keeping my subscription. Meh.of course I got everything I DIDN’T want out of the “luck of the draw” and I wanted the Mac lip, but low and behold the “adesse” wasn’t in my box like it said. I’m starting to think they send the good boxes to people promoting the boxes that have a following. And they are getting too big too quick and just throwing stuff in so many different boxes. Free full disk encryption software. I got the tastiest pro glow in “sparkler” I really wanted the Mac lipstick.did anybody get a Mac red they would be willing to trade for the tarte highliter?! If So, I can throw it on the swap site here and we can trade for it. I’m one of those people that absolutely love colourpop, but not because of their palettes.

I think they’re beautiful, but chalky. Their Super Shock Shadows however, are the smoothest, creamiest, most vividly pigmented eyeshadow I’ve ever used. They have a cream texture, but go on like a powder, with zero fallout (except some glitter if you don’t use a setting spray). I bought their “Give It To Me Straight” palette and thought there’s no way anyone loves this.

Then tried their luxe lipstick and it was wonderful. Then super shock shadows got me hooked. And their customer service is incredible. They sent me the wrong lipstick shade once, and instead of having me send it back, they simply shipped me the right shade for free in addition to the one they sent by mistake.

And their prices are super affordable. I think for the price of almost any of these subscription boxes, you understand you get what you get.

Like we tell our kids, you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit. Even if you were to buy drugstore or Walmart makeup, you’re not going to get as many products to try – which is really the purpose of these boxes – for $21 as you do with Boxy Charm, unless you just go straight for the Wet’n’Wild. I read the comments to see what people got, but every subscription box, it’s the same thing – 75% of the people commenting are unhappy with what they received. Unsubscribe if you guys don’t like them. Otherwise, just be happy and excited when you get these, and pass along the items you can’t use or don’t like.

My dimensions said 16x9x1 and it was the regular 8 inch box. So weird that the measurements were so far off. And yes, the Adesse wand does seem more flexible than I’m used to using. But it didn’t break when I put it on to see how it looked. I’m definitely going to have to put a topper on it because I think it might be too dark for me.
