Either the enclosure or the hard drive is going bad. (Sorry to be this harsh). What I recommend is DONT TRY CHKDSK or any test utility because it will stress the hard drive making things worse.Remove the hard drive from the enclosure (it could be a little tricky) and then trying connecting the hard drive internally to your computer. If it's a laptop either get another enclosure and try again, but I rather use the SATA on a desktop motherboard, not the USB.
